The ideal cage for guinea pigs should be large because these animals are active types of animals. You must provide at least two types of cages, namely a nursery cage and a cage for adult guinea pigs. The size of the drinking cage is 0.5 x 0.5 m. if you want to put more than one guinea pig in one cage, then the size must be increased to 0.7 x 0.7 m.

Based on the correct way of raising guinea pigs, you are not recommended to use a cage in the form of an aquarium or use a plastic container. Also make sure the cage has adequate ventilation and does not restrict sight and sound. The recommended cage is a cage made of mesh and coroplast sheets.

The most important equipment is the base or bedding which is placed in the cage. You can use aspen wood shavings as bedding. Make sure bedding is changed regularly to avoid odors and maintain the health of the guinea pig.
