Before carrying out fertilization, there are things that must be considered, namely that the sapodilla plant must meet the requirements to be fertilized. What are the conditions? The conditions are:
  • The sapodilla tree is old enough, which can be seen from the stems that are getting stronger to support the fruit that will be produced later.
  • The sapodilla plant is not putting out new shoots or in other words when all the leaves of the plant are old.
And if the sapodilla plant meets these requirements, the fertilization process can be carried out. The method is to apply water stress and fertilization.

WATER STRESS

Water stress or water stress is reducing the intensity of watering for 3-4 weeks, and during that time watering is still being done but only when the plants look wilted. Or if watering is usually done every day, but in this water-draining process watering is done once every 3 days with only a small amount so that the plants don't die.

After 3 or 4 weeks of dragging, usually the plants will turn a little wilted and many of the leaves will turn yellow and even partially fall off, and if this happens, it means that the dragging process was successful and ready for the next treatment.

And for the method of administration, namely dissolving the fertilizer at a dose of 1 tablespoon of MKP and 1 tablespoon of White KNO3 into 3 liters of water then stir until dissolved and evenly mixed. While the method of application is to pour it into the sapodilla plants in pots with an interval of once a week.

The dose above is for 1 pot of plant, and if you need fertilizer for more pots, just add the dose according to the dosage mentioned above.

After the dragging process is successful apart from fertilizing once a week, watering can also be done normally again.

Apart from that, you can also add POC from eggs where this POC is a useful fertilizer to stimulate the growth of flowers and fruit. This egg POC is quite easy to make and with simple ingredients. To find out how to make it, we will review it in a future article.
