Kedondong is one of the fruit plants belonging to the mango-mango tribe ( Anacardiaceae). The shape of the fruit is oval, green with a hard skin, the seeds are stringy.
The flesh is crunchy and tastes very sour. The flesh is acidic in color when ripe, very juicy and has a mixed taste of pineapple and mango.
Planting kedondong is very easy, because kedondong can grow anywhere with soil ranging from loam to sandy as long as it has sufficient nutrients, has moderate rainfall, 80% sunlight, and has an air temperature of around 20°C-32°C.

How to Plant Kedondong
Preparation of Planting Media
The planting site used to plant kedondong can be in the form of polybags or large pots with a diameter of about 50 cm and a height of about 50 cm.
The planting media material is soil and bokashi with a ratio of about 1: 1. Mix the two ingredients together with 3 grams of Furadan, which is an insecticide to prevent soil pests, then mix everything until evenly mixed.
Seed Preparation
Planting kedondong can be through seeds, cuttings, grafts, and grafting. But it is better to use dondong seedlings through cuttings.
Graft or grafting because it bears fruit faster and is more identical to the parent plant. Choose seeds that are healthy or free from pests and diseases.
Enter the planting medium into a pot / polybag planting as high as 25cm then flush until evenly wet, after that enter the kedondong seeds and arrange the roots until they are evenly distributed.

Plant Maintenance
- Watering 2 times a day regularly in the morning the new plants are planted. If it has grown well, watering can be done every 2 days and if it is getting big, watering can be done every 4-6 days by looking at the condition of the soil.
- Weeding weeds that grow around kedondong plants in pots once every 2 weeks.
- The first fertilization on kedondong plants at the age of 2 weeks with urea and NPK fertilizers. The next fertilization is done when the kedondong is 1 month, 2 months, 4 months, 8 months and so on, which is added with bokashi fertilizer. Fertilization is adjusted to the age and the right dose and do watering until the fertilizer is absorbed into the soil.

Harvest
Kedondong can be harvested after about 1-1.5 years after planting. The characteristics of kedondong fruit that are ready to harvest are the color of the skin of the fruit is dark green and has a fragrant aroma.
